By partnering with the region's four economic development entities, the Catawba Workforce Development Area addresses the workforce development needs of existing businesses and industries and potential economic development prospects considering the Catawba Region. Sharing information, regional statistics, and other decision-making resources assists the Catawba Workforce Development Board to develop a strategy-focused plan which addresses the short and long term skill needs of the workforce.

Working hand-in-hand with economic and workforce development is critical in the preparation of the workforce for an ever-changing economic landscape. The Catawba Region has positioned itself to meet these challenges, to develop the area's workforce, and to meet the employment needs of the business / industry community. Whether helping companies hire qualified employees, assisting job seekers interested in On-the-Job Training, helping companies to remain competitive through Incumbent Worker Training Grants, or providing dislocated workers with skill training, the Catawba Regional Workforce Area has designed program and services to help a person achieve their goals.
